HOW TO BEGIN - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is Town Planner?
Town Planner is America’s leading information, resource and events platform keeping families informed and organized daily. We do this with our community calendars that are mailed to households and businesses; and our digital platforms that offer a website, mobile app and email newsletter.
How do I get started?
Town Planner makes the process easy for you to understand and prepare for your franchise ownership. We help you implement our 30+ years of experiences through training, teleconferences, webinars and conferences.
All you need to do is fill out the application form and we will schedule a call to get you on the path to franchise ownership.
How much does a Town Planner franchise cost?
A Town Planner franchise requires an initial investment of $25,000. These funds will be applied toward your first year production cost, thereby making you profitable right from the start.
Are there other costs involved?
Town Planner has a marketing fund that all franchisees pay into as well as a royalty of a flat cost per calendar mailed. We do not believe in taking a certain % of your sales as we feel that penalizes you as compared to rewarding you for all of your hard work and efforts. All of these other costs should come out of all the sales you make. These costs will be discussed in greater detail on our call.
Is financing available?
Town Planner does not directly offer financing. Most people work with their local bank to secure financing. We also have a list of contacts to look into if financing is needed.
What kind of training and support is offered?
Town Planner has a comprehensive 4 day training program at its corporate headquarters in Richfield, OH. You then will have on-going support offered through teleconferencing, webinars, small mentoring groups, email newsletters, weekly and monthly sales reporting and much much more.
How is territory determined?
Town Planner will look at your area and all the zip codes around your preferred location. We will work with you to determine what makes the most sense while serving you with the easier areas to get to and work in. Our 30+ years of experience gives us and you the most successful community traits to start publishing business with.
How long does it take to get started?
The beauty of Town Planner is that you can determine for yourself your ramp up period. Our orientation programs are generally held as needed so, if immediate results are necessary, we can fast track and get you running within 30 days. If you need to work yourself out of current employment obligations, we can tailor the training and orientation based on your availability.
What is the FDD?
The Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) will describe in detail how the Town Planner franchise relationship operates and will specify how the company is organized. It will also contain franchisee contact information so that you can contact our owners to get the information needed for your research. Once you complete an Application for Additional Information, we will forward it to you.
Are any resales available?
We currently have opportunities available in Boise, ID and Bristol and Newport counties in Rhode Island.
